The musculotubal canal is an anatomical structure that belongs to the temporal bone. It is a double canal that houses the tensor veli palatini muscle and the auditory (Eustachian) tube. It is formed by the tympanic part of the temporal bone in pigs and horses and additionally by the basisphenoid bone in carnivores and ruminants.
