Nasopharyngeal meatus
Meatus nasopharyngeus
Definition
The nasopharyngeal meatus (Meatus nasopharyngeus) is a broad canal located at the rearmost part of each nasal cavity, below the basal blade of the ethmoid, united to the spheno-ethmoidal plate of the palatine bone and to the vomer that separates it from the ethmoidal (olfactive) labyrinth.
The nasopharyngeal meatus ends on the ventral side of the bony head by the corresponding choane.
