Anulus inguinalis superficialis
Definition
The superficial inguinal ring is the external (subcutaneous) opening of the inguinal canal. It is a slit-like aperture in the aponeurosis of the external abdominal oblique muscle, located just cranial and lateral to the pubic tubercle.
