The vomeronasal cartilage is connected to the ventral part of the cartilage of the nasal septum. It surrounds and supports the vomeronasal duct. It is connected rostrally to the cartilage of the incisive duct, it is more or less sheathing depending on the species. It is rare that it completely envelops the organ.
