Impressio aortica
Definition
The aortic impression is a normal depression located on the mediastinal surface of the left caudal lobe of the lung, corresponding to the passage of the thoracic aorta along the pulmonary parenchyma.
It is one of the visible reliefs on the medial surface of the lung, situated near the cardiac impression and the esophageal impression.
