Impressio esophagea [oesophagea]

The esophageal impression of the lung corresponds to the depression left by the esophagus on the medial surface of the lungs. It is located mainly on the caudal lobe of the right lung and the accessory lobe, where the esophagus passes dorsally to the heart and the main bronchi.
