Caudal lobe of right lung

Lobus caudalis pulmonis dextri

Definition

Juliette Garnodier

The right caudal lung lobe is the largest lobe of the right lung. It occupies the caudodorsal region of the right thoracic cavity, located posterior to the right middle lobe and adjacent to the diaphragm, against which its concave diaphragmatic surface rests. Medially, it has a close relationship with the accessory lobe. It is ventilated by the right caudal lobar bronchus, which arises from the right main bronchus.
