Lobus caudalis pulmonis sinistri

Definition

Juliette Garnodier

The caudal lobe of the left lung is the most posterior and largest portion of the left lung, located behind the cranial lobe from which it is separated by the caudal interlobar fissure. It occupies the caudodorsal region of the left hemithorax and has a concave base that lies against the diaphragm. It is ventilated by the left caudal lobar bronchus, which arises from the left main bronchus.
