Ectoturbinate 1
Ectoturbinalia 1
Definition
The ectoturbinates or ectoturbinate volutes are a group of bony sheets , as the endoturbinates. Together they form the group of the turbinates.
The ectoturbinates are more numerous and smaller than the endoturbinates, located more laterally, they are hidden, and can not be seen on the median sections of the head.
They constitute a more or less tight row and, in certain certains species (Horses), even overlay to form two rows.
