Thyrohyoideum [Thyreo-, Cornu majus]
Definition
The thyrohyoid is one of the components of the hyoid apparatus. It extends dorsocaudally from the basihyoid, with which it articulates, to the rostral horn of the thyroid cartilage of the larynx.
In dogs, the thyrohyoid is thin, laterally curved and sagittally flattened.
