Definition
The supravalvular ridge of the pulmonary trunk refers to a circumferential fibrous or fibroelastic ridge located at or just above the sinotubular junction of the pulmonary root, the anatomic boundary where the pulmonary valve sinuses transition into the tubular main pulmonary artery. This ridge corresponds to the commissural ridge of the pulmonary valve, where the most superior attachment points of the semilunar valve leaflets meet the arterial wall.
