Antebrachial fascia

Fascia antebrachii

Definition

Stephan Mahler

The antebrachial fascia is the fascia of the thoracic limb which covers the muscles of the forearm. It follows the brachial fascia at the elbow joint and is continued by the dorsal fascia and the palmar fascia of the hand at the carpal joint. The antebrachial fascia extends around and between the extensor and flexor muscles of the hand and fingers, as far as the periosteum of the radius and ulna, determining septa surrounding these muscles individually or as a group. The antebrachial fascia is intimately united to the extensor muscles and more loosely to the flexor muscles.
