Sulcus chiasmatis
Definition
The chiasmatic groove is a smooth, transverse bony depression located on the endocranial surface of the body of the presphenoid bone. In front to the hypophysial fossa, it is separated from it by a more or less elevated ridge.
It houses the optic chiasma.
