Definition
The nasal diverticulum is an anatomical structure belonging to the horse's nostril. It is also known as the false nostril. It is a blind cutaneous cavity that extends from the dorsal angle of the nostril to the caudal end of the naso-incisive notch. The nasal diverticulum fills the space between the nasal bone and the nasal process of the incisive bone.
