The omental veil (carnivores) is a sagittal peritoneal membrane that connects deep layer of greater omentum with the left surface of descending mesocolon. It has a free caudal border.

It contains between its peritoneal leaves, cranially, the left extremity and caudal margin of the left lobe of the pancreas.
