- Synonym: Medial pterygoid
Definition
Origin: Lateral surface of the pterygoid, palatine and sphenoid bones.
Insertion: Caudal margin and slightly on the caudomedial surface of the mandible.
Action: Raises the mandible.
Nerve: Trigeminus.
