Definition
The right ventricular free wall is the portion of the right ventricle that forms the outer wall of the RV, excluding the interventricular septum. It is a thin, crescent-shaped structure (typically 2–5 mm thick in adults) that wraps around the left ventricle and is responsible for the majority of RV contraction and stroke volume through its longitudinal shortening and movement toward the septum
