The left ventricle may also described with six walls according to the standardized AHA/ASE 17segment model: anterior, anteroseptal (septal), inferoseptal, inferior, inferolateral, and anterolateral (lateral). These walls are further divided into segments at three levels (basal, midventricular, and apical), plus the apical cap, for a total of 17 segments.
