Definition
In horses, at the level of the proximal phalanx, the superficial digital flexor tendon (SDFT) divides into two branches, a distal medial branch and a distal lateral branch, opposite to the sagittal branch of the proximal part.
These terms are not listed in the NAV but referenced by some authors like JM Denoix.
