Canalis alaris

The alar canal is described in ruminants and dogs. It is a bony channel which extends longitudinally at the base of the pterygoid process of the basisphenoid bone, between the caudal alar foramen and the rostral alar foramen. The maxillary artery and vein run inside the alar canal.
