Dorsal condylar fossa
Fossa condylaris dorsalis
Definition
In Men and other animals, as Dogs, there is a dorsal condylar fossa (Fossa condylaris dorsalis), which is barely visible or absent in most domestic animals.
In this fossa can end, as in Men, another vascular orifice. The several vascular openings that can be found in the neighbourhood of the condyle often give access to a condylar canal (Canalis condylaris), that gives way to some vessels and whose disposition varies according to the species; this canal is missing in the other domestic animals than the Ruminants and the Dogs.
