Ethmoidal crest
Crista ethmoidalis
Definition
On the nasal surface of the perpendicular plate of the palatine bone, the ethmoidal crest of the maxilla is an oblique line descending backwards.
It is attached to the middle concha and therefore separates two slightly excavated surfaces, the one of the upper meatus and the one of the middle meatus.
It is the uppermost of the two lines that cross the vertical part of the palatine bone; the lower one is called the conchal crest and is attached to the ventral concha.
An ethmoidal crest is also visible on the nasal bone and sometimes the maxilla (Dogs, Men).
Mind that while it gives attachment to the dorsal nasal concha on the nasal bone and the maxilla -when it exists-; it gives attachment to the middle concha on the palatine bone
