Processus pyramidalis

Definition

The pyramidal process (Processus pyramidalis) is located on the free part of the caudal border of the perpendicular plate of the palatine bone.

In Men, it forms a sharp relief in Men,

in Pigs, it is a thick and prominent tuberosity in front of the pterygoid fossa;

in Equidae, an everted plate;

in Ruminants, it is reduced to simple roughness;

and it is missing in Carnivorous.
