Definition

The spheno-ethmoidal plate (Lamina sphenoethmoidalis) of the perpendicular plate of the palatine bone is a crest that connects to the vomer ventrally and to the basal plate of the ethmoid bone rostrodorsally. It contributes to separate the nasophayngeal meatus from the ethmoidal labyrinthus.

In Dogs and Pigs, it is particularly long;

In the orther species, it is not very distinct.
