Definition

Andréa Lopes da Costa

The spheno-ethmoidal plate is a crest that connects to the vomer ventrally and to the basal lamina of the ethmoid bone rostrodorsally.

It contributes to separate the nasopharyngeal meatus from the ethmoidal labyrinthus.

Variation :

In Dogs and Pigs, it is particularly long.

In the orther species, it is not very distinct.
