Internal occipital protuberance
Protuberantia occipitalis interna
Definition
On the endocranial surface of the skull, the squamous part of the occipital bone and the interparietal bone form a kind of roof. At their union, an eminence stands out, the internal occipital protuberance (Protuberantia occipitalis interna).
N.B.: In Horses and Carnivorous, the internal occipital protuberance is hemmed by a bony relief belonging to the base of the cerebellum tent, the processus tentoricus.
