Internal occipital crest
Crista occipitalis interna
Definition
The internal occipital crest (Crista occipitalis interna) descends in Men on the median plane rom the internal occipital protuberance towards the foramen magnum
In domestic animals, the description of the internal occipital crest vary between authors :
For Barone, the internal occipital crest is replaced by a broad shallow depression, the vermiform impression (Impressio vermialis), that corresponds to the cerebellar vermis.
In the Miller, the internal occipital crests are the the paired crests that bound laterally the vermiform impression of occipital bone.
