Temporal line
Linea temporalis
Definition
The temporal line is a linear surface of the bony prominence that separates the squamous part of frontal bone from the temporal surface and extends caudally as the external sagittal crest. Rostrally, the temporal line extends to the zygomatic process of the frontal bone.
The temporal line, with its prominence, protects the cornual nerve, which passes through the temporal fossa and runs along the temporal line to the base of the cornual horn.
