Sagittal border

Margo sagittalis

Definition

Andréa Lopes da Costa

The sagittal border forms part of the medial border of the parietal bone, along with the interparietal border. It merges with the opposite parietal bone.

Its extracranial portion may contribute to the formation of the external sagittal crest, and its intracranial portion may contribute to the formation of the internal sagittal crest or a groove for dorsal sagittal sinus that corresponds to the surrounding sinus venosus.
