Occipital border
Margo occipitalis
Definition
The occipital border (Margo occipitalis) of the parietal bone is usually its shortest border. It participates to the occipitoparietal suture. Its medial part unites more particularly to the interparietal bone*. Its endocranial reverse takes part in the formation of the cerebro-cerebellar crest or spheno-occipital crest, on a variable extend according to the species.
*The interparietal and occipital are often studied together
