Temporal plane

Planum temporale

Definition

Andréa Lopes da Costa

The temporal plane is one of the two parts, the ventrolateral part, of the external surface of the parietal bone. The other is the parietal plane, corresponding to the dorsomedial part.

It contributes to the formation of the temporal fossa and serves as the attachment point for the temporalis muscle.
