Definition
The internal surface or endocranial surface of the parietal bone is consistently concave and bears the cerebral gyri imprints (Impressiones digitatae), separated by subtle crests (juga cerebralia), as well as branched vascular grooves.
Variation:
In cats, a prominent protrusion forms at the occipital border. It contributes to the formation of the cerebro-cerebellar crest and the tentorial process.
