Medial surface of petrous part

Facies medialis partis petrosae

Definition

The medial surface or cerebellar surface (Facies medialis partis petrosae) belongs nearly entirely to the petrous part. Very deep in Rabbits, this fossa is only partially represented in Men by the fossa subarcuata, so called because of its location in relation to the semicircular canals.
