Fissura tympanosquamosa
Definition
The tympanosquamous fissure is a cleft located between the tympanic and squamous parts of the temporal bone, contributing to the anatomical separation of these bone parts.
This fissure is present in horses, sheep, goats, and pigs, but in other species it is completely ossified.
