The apex of the petrous part (Apex partis petrosae) is the end of the protrusion located mediorostrally to the internal accoustic pore.

In Men, it is long and strong.
in Equidae and Carnivorous, is still important.
in Ruminants, it is barely marked in Ruminants.
in Pigs, it is nearly absent.
