Canalis nervus trigemini

The canal of trigeminal nerve, located in the caudal cranial fossa, runs horizontally from back to front across the apex of petrous part. It is present in dogs and rabbits, while in other species there is simply a trigeminal impression. In the dog, this canal contains the trigeminal ganglion.
