The zygomaticoscutularis muscle is lateral to the frontoscutularis muscle. Broad, it originates opposite the orbital ligament, extending over the zygomatic process of the temporal bone and over the rostral half of the temporal line to end at the level of the scutiform cartilage.

Origin: rostral part of the zygomatic arch or the orbital ligament

Insertion: rostral angle and adjacent part of the scutiform cartilage

Artery: rostral auricular artery

Nerve: auriculopalpebral nerve

Action: it pulls the scutiform cartilage rostrally

Antagonist: Cervicoauricularis muscles
