  • Synonym: Scutuloauricular superficialis accessorii muscle

Definition

Marjorie Champarou

The scutuloauricular superficialis accessorii muscle is thin at its origin but spreads broadly over the surface of the auricle, between the insertions  of the cervicoauricularis superficialis and parietoauricularis muscles. This muscle is one of the four muscles of the scutuloauriculares superficiales muscles (with the dorsal, the ventral and the intermediate) that help to orientate the intertragic notch rostrally.
